Monte Carlo

Monaco is a tiny principality, the second-smallest country in the world after the Vatican. While the whole country is less than one square mile, it is the land of high-value industries and wealth. For me, Monaco is worth visiting for the Prince’s Palace and a view of luxurious yachts. If you are a James Bond fan, stop by the Monte Carlo casino; just be sure to check the dress code and operating hours. The Oceanographic Museum is also a great blend of science, nature, and marine life, but unfortunately, we didn’t have time to go inside, as this was a quick visit. You can easily visit from the French Riviera on a day trip, and spring weather here is perfect, making March and April great months for a visit.

Prince’s Palace

Monte Carlo Casino

Bond…James Bond

This high-end casino was the setting for scenes in GoldenEye and Never Say Never Again. There is a dress code, so go looking your best!

Luxury cars

So much wealth

Everywhere we looked, we saw cars that don’t often appear back in Louisiana. We saw logos for Bentley, Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Lamborghini.

French Riviera

View from the Palace

Not far from the front of the Palace, you can look down on the French Riviera. You can even grab a croque monsieur (my fav French sandwich) and hope the seagulls don’t attack you for it (but that’s another story).
