Athens | Delphi | Meteora

In 2023, using an itinerary I had planned to use in March 2020 (we all know what happened then), I finally took my oldest daughter PW–along with 35 others–to Greece! We started in Athens, where we saw the Olympic Stadium, the Acropolis (including the Parthenon and the Temple of Athena Nike), and the Plaka District. After three days and two nights, we drove to Delphi, where climbed a huge hill to the Temple of Apollo and were treated to some amazing views. Next up, after just one night in Delphi, we went to Meteora, the “City in the Sky.” The best place to see there is definitely the monastery! That night, we checked into a night ferry and started a journey to Italy…but that’s another story.

On the right is my teacher bestie, Anna, in front of the Acropolis. From that hilltop, we could see the temple where Paul (author of much of the New Testament) preached his early sermons. Directly below Anna’s photo is the Oracle of Delphi, where people would come seeking supernatural counsel. Below is PW on the other side, where restoration is in progress.
