London | Stonehenge | Bath | Stratford-upon-Avon
London is a bustling city with castles, museums, and shops. From Trafalgar Square to Piccadilly Circus, there’s so much to see. Outside the city, we have visited Bath, named for the Roman bath houses, Stratford-upon-Avon (home of Shakespeare), and Stonehenge (so many mysteries!).

London

We always start in London, although I know there are more great places in England. London is the easiest place for us to fly into, and during one of our visits, it was also the site of the World Naked Bike Ride!

Stonehenge
Without proper research beforehand, a visit to Stonehenge can be rather underwhelming. However, when we realized it was a monument from the Ancient Britons that could date back as far as 3100 B.C., it became more interesting. Its purpose is STILL unknown, although many think it could have been relevant to burial ceremonies or even astronomical observations. Who knows? It’s fun to see in person, read about, and wonder about.
Stratford-upon-Avon
This was the birthplace of William Shakespeare, so of course we visited his childhood home, the childhood home of his wife, Anne Hathaway, and several tea shops. We even caught a live dramatization of a scene from The Taming of the Shrew!
This town was so charming and worth its own visit. It’s a quick, easy day trip from London. It boasts its own smaller version of The Eye.
